Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia Series Shanghai

Super Sports Car maker Automobili Lamborghini and luxury Swiss watchmaker Blancpain return this year to provide new destinations, new tracks and new teams for the second ever season of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia Series, the world’s most exclusive platform for the ultimate lifestyle experience.

Inheriting the different tracks in this year’s series will be the new Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo 2013. Enhanced aerodynamic efficiencies, increased thermal performance and a stronger balance than the 2012 Gallardo model will broaden horizons for superior lap times and racecar showmanship as drivers compete this season.

Last year’s Super Trofeo finale saw amateur and Pro-Am teams, both from China, crowned champions at the Shanghai International Circuit, where this year’s racing series will kick-off. For 2013, all bets are on as this year sees an increased diversity of drivers on a new line-up of internationally renowned circuits. While one driver from India marks his nation’s debut in this extreme championship, Korea will for the first time ever play host in the Super Trofeo Series, a new introduction that will no doubt be joined by others as we go through the series.

Super Trofeo was first launched in 2009, in Europe, as a means of further enhancing the brands emotional ties to motorsport. Now in its fifth consecutive year, Super Trofeo as an international race series now celebrates not only its second year in Asia, but its inaugural series in the United States. As this American debut is well received by the global audience of sports car owners and enthusiasts, the Super Trofeo Series in Asia for 2013 stands as a symbol of Lamborghini’s further development in international motorsport and ultimate lifestyle experiences. The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia Series represents more than just a series of motorsport events, but an exclusive world whereby those who seek more in life can engage in the ultimate lifestyle experience.

Speaking on behalf of Blancpain, Vice President Alain Delamuraz stated: “We are proud to be back here in Shanghai for the opening round of the second season of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia. Each stop of the Super Trofeo racing series includes a 35 minute long qualifying race to determine the driver’s starting position, followed by two 50 minute long races for amateur and pro-amateur drivers, ultimately proclaiming 4 champion teams. World renowned Shanghai International Circuit will host the debut race for this year’s Super Trofeo Asia Series, and will be followed by distinguished international circuits in Malaysia, Korea and Japan before returning to Shanghai and then to Macau for the grand final. Further excitement will emerge at this stage as the Super Trofeo grand final will take place during the Diamond Jubilee Macau Grand Prix, where a convoy of the worlds’ most celebrated names in automotive existence will accompany Lamborghini in staging world class car racing. Further milestones will form as the Super Trofeo series in Europe, Asia and the United States unite in Rome for a culminating grand finale of all champion racers towards the end of the year.
