German luxury car giant, Mercedes-Benz has now teased the official sketch of the much anticipated GLA compact crossover at its Facebook fan page. The production version of the same car was last unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show, earlier this year. Based on the company's new front wheel drive MFA (Modular Front Architecture) platform, the GLA class will be competing against the hugely popular Audi Q3 and BMW X1. The newly launched A-Class and B-Class too are developed on the similar platform. The Mercedes-Benz GLA will also come to India.
The GLA crossover is 4383mm long, 1978mm wide and 1579mm high, while the wheelbase is probably going to the same 2699mm as the A-Class and B-Class. And with such dimensions, the GLA compact luxury SUV will be able to compete so well with its arch rivals Audi Q3 and BMW X1, both globally and in India.
The front fascia of the car features a two-horizontal slat-bars grille, with the company's stylish badge embedded at the centre. The front headlamps look stylish with laser beam projectors. The GLA compact crossover is likely to be sporting the same 2.2-litre diesel and the 1.6-litre petrol engine that also power the A-Class and B-Class in India. The GLA crossover will also share its interior with the A-Class.
Stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same. Cheers!
