Speculations are rife regarding the launch of 2012 Toyota Avanza mini SUV in India, however, Toyota Motors have informed that the company will not launch any new car in the domestic market before 2012 end. Toyota India might consider introducing Toyota Avanza to place it between the Toyota Etios sedan and the Toyota Innova due to the lack of a proper model between the two segments. The new Toyota Avanza specifications are still unclear, however it is expected to look similar to upcoming Maruti R3 MPV.

Currently, Toyota India is more focused on bringing the facelift versions of Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner and what could be a better time than the 2012 India Auto Expo. However, the discussions between the Japanese auto major and its Indian subsidiary are underway. The fresh competition in form of the upcoming MPVs, Maruti R III and Nissan NV 200 by 2012 will confront the existing models. Hence, upgrading the older model Toyota Innova to take upon the challengers is an ideal strategy on Toyota India’s part. The launch of the revamped version of the Toyota Camry is also on the cards, which is expected to reach the Indian shores through the CBU route.

The brand new cars from Toyota Motors in India could only be expected in 2013. Though it is still unclear on which segment the new launches are likely to take place, the bets are high on a new MPV launch. The other options for Toyota Kirloskar Motors could be reviving the Qualis brand as well. Few models offered from Toyota Motors in India are Toyota Etios Liva, Toyota Etios, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Innova and Toyota Camry.
