Honda Siel Cars records 32% increase in March 09

Honda Siel Cars India Ltd, the complete subsidiary of Japanese car manufacturer Honda, recorded an increase of 32% in the month of March 2009 with the impressive sales of the latest version of Honda City launched in 2009. The company sold 7,368 units copared to 5,579 units February 2009. According to Jnaneswar Sen, (Vice President - Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India), “Even in these challenging times, the sales of the Honda City have grown by 20% ever since the deliveries started in November 2008. We enter 2009 - 10 with a lot of confidence and are looking forward to launch of Honda Jazz as the year progresses”. In the period of April 2008 - March 2009, the sold 52,420 units as against 62,802 units sold in April 2007 - March 2008. The car manufacturer experienced the negative growth in the Indian automobile industry and as part of cost cutting, the company even cut down the production at its Greater Noida plant since December 2008. During the financial year 2008-09, the Honda Siel Cars India expanded its sales and distribution network across the country 103 facilities in 60 cities.
