Hyundai Creta: Long Term Test Fleet Introduction

Published On Apr 23, 2024 By Alan Richard for Hyundai Creta

The Creta is finally here! India’s favorite all-rounder SUV joins our long term fleet and we’re more than happy to have it

Hyundai Creta

The Hyundai Creta has just been facelifted and it’s worth talking about one of the more significant changes that the model has seen and that’s to its looks. The polarizing design has changed quite a bit. I’m not going to say that I love this look a lot more than the outgoing one immediately but I can certainly see this face appealing to more people than the previous one. Especially striking is the new light signature both up front and especially at the rear. Let’s see if this look grows on me as much as the older one did.

Another thing I'm looking forward to is spending more time in the updated interiors, and special mention has to go to the now more modern looking dashboard which was one of the more dated elements on the old car.

Another aspect that I’ll report back on is living with ADAS. I'm more than used to ADAS on cars because so many cars today sport these aids, but I haven’t lived with it on a daily basis. Considering that my commute to work consists of a 50km drudge through traffic, to and from office, this should provide a perfect testbed for this tech. Will it be an annoyance? Will I learn to live with it? Or will I find it a feature I can no longer do without? Time will tell.

We also have the 1.5-litre Petrol iVT automatic, famed for being brilliant for city use and this will certainly be put to test. And I look forward to seeing how the CVT automatic performs in Pune’s choc-a-block city traffic. As well as how it performs out on the highway with a couple of good long road trips. The first of which will be happening at the end of April.

Finally I look forward to the Creta experience, the one we are familiar with. A comfortable family, city friendly SUV, that everyone loves. Primarily for its spacious, comfortable and feature loaded experience.  I’m sure my time with this jack-of-all-trades will be a fun experience.
