What is the latest update on the Hyundai Creta EV?

The interior and powertrain of the Hyundai Creta Electric have been revealed ahead of its launch on January 17 at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

How many variants are there in the Hyundai Creta EV?

The Hyundai Creta EV will be available in broad four variants- Executive, Smart, Premium and Excellence. 

What features does the Creta EV get? 

The Hyundai Creta Electric will come with a 10.25-inch dual digital display set up (one for touchscreen infotainment the another for the driver display), connected car tech and a digital key. The Creta Electric will also feature vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, dual-zone auto-ac, Bose 8-speaker sound system, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting.

What electric powertrain does the Hyundai Creta EV offer?

Hyundai will be offering the Creta Electric with two battery pack choices. The standard Hyundai Creta EV gets a 42 kWh battery pack paired with an e-motor producing 135 PS and an ARAI-claimed range of 390 km. Opting for the long-range version gets you a larger 51.4 kWh teamed with an even more powerful 171 PS e-motor, which delivers an ARAI-claimed range of 473 km. The carmaker has also claimed that the Creta EV can be charged from 10-80 percent in 58 minutes using a DC fast charger, while an 11 kW AC charger can charge the battery from 10-100 percent in four hours.

How safe is the Hyundai Creta EV?

To ensure safety, Hyundai will be offering the Creta Electric with 6 airbags (as standard), hill start assist, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitor, electronic stability control and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The Creta Electric will also feature a level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) such as cruise control, and lane keep assist.

How many colour options are available with the Hyundai Creta EV?

The Creta Electric will be available in 8 monotone and 2 dual-tone colour options including 3 matte colours: Abyss Black Pearl, Atlas White, Fiery Red Pearl, Starry Night, Ocean Blue Metallic, Ocean Blue Matte, Titan Grey Matte, Robust Emerald Matte, Atlas White with black roof, and Ocean Blue Metallic with black roof.

Should I wait for the Hyundai Creta EV?

If you are looking to buy a compact electric SUV for your family, the Hyundai Creta EV could be worth waiting for. Most of what it's offering will be similar to the standard Hyundai Creta and if you’d like those same features with the benefit of driving an electric vehicle, the Creta Electric is something to look forward to.

What are my alternatives?

If you want an electric SUV of the same size as the Hyundai Creta Electric, you can consider the MG ZS EV. Do note that around the time Hyundai introduces the electric Creta, Maruti Suzuki will launch the e Vitara which will be Maruti Suzuki’s first-ever electric car. If you want an EV with unique looks in the segment, the Tata Curvv EV and Mahindra BE 6 are also worth considering.
