Ever since Hyundai i10 introduced in India, it has been one of the top selling Hyundai cars, but the momentum is shifting towards diesel hatches, and the i10 has started loosing its ground. Moreover, its closest competitor Maruti Ritz (diesel & Petrol) is selling double units than the i10. Now, it has become essential for Hyundai to introduce a new vehicle in diesel version. The 2014 Hyundai i10 will be more spacious and bigger in size, and will get an all-new engine option. The new i10 is likely to house a 1.1-litre turbo diesel engine that develops about 75bhp-150Nm, which will be an advanced diesel machine with a variable geometry turbocharger. It is also speculated that the company might also use the same platform to develop a compact sedan to compete against the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire and the Honda Amaze.
