Mercedes Benz, the German auto giant known for the class and luxury appeal of cars, is all set for introducing the next generation model of its top-end S class sedan. This new generation Mercedes Benz S Class is supposedly the 9th generation and is expected to receive the limelight it deserves by the next year. The significance of this GenNext model is just not limited to its launch as one of the most significant ones in the next year, but also in a way that the car is expected to emerge as the flagship model of the company.
The company is also gracing the car with 3 new models, which will finally result in the expansion of the range in the whole with a total of 6 models. The expansion of the range will include convertibles with an option of 2 or 4 doors and also coupes. The pictures of the next generation model of the Mercedes S Class reveal that the grille of the car has taken an extra few inches on the front end and has also been positioned a bit upright.
The headlights have been upgraded with new daytime running LEDs, a new wrap around and a sharp designing. The front has been bestowed with more lines that run from the hood to the grille and a sharp line that runs from the top of the headlights to all the way to the rear lights. The tail lamps have also been graced with the daytime LEDs and the rear end gets new twin exhaust pipes and a newly designed boot. The interiors of the cars have also been gratified with a new big screen that spreads across to the middle of the dashboard and also possesses a customizable instrument cluster. Among the many passenger friendly gadgets going aboard, the new round A/C vents and the infotainment system are the most significant ones. The 2014 Mercedes S Class is also expected to be rendered a superior quality material for the interiors.
Moving over to the mechanics of this newfangled car; the aluminum-intensive unibody has been provided with four-link front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. A camera has also been included that will be used for scanning the road and also adjusting the suspension, which resultantly would ensure more comfort for the drivers with a sporty inclination. The drive-train of the new Mercedes Benz S Class will range from V6, V8 and V12 petrol engines to V6 and 4-cylinder diesel engines; the hybrid and AMG models are also expected to make their way in.
