Ashok Leyland Dost Special Edition Unveiled

Indian Small commercial vehicle segments is on rise, last year we saw Ashok Leyland stepping in this industry with the launch of 'DOST' Range of vehicles. They became the first one to bring an SCV in power-steering option, and about two months back Mahindra & Mahindra rolled out new Mahindra Bolero Maxi Truck in power-steering. Now on the first anniversary of Dost, the company has unveiled the limited edition of their maiden SCV Dost.

The all new Dost has come out carrying a bunch of features making it even better product, soon the vehicle will be available at all Ashok Leyland dealerships across the country. Speaking on the occasion, Company's Vice-Chairman, V Sumantran said, "We felt to introduce something special (to our customers) on this special occasion. And therefore, the first Anniversary edition. Today is the birthday of DOST," The Limited edition Dost will be made available till Diwali and has been priced around Rs 15,000 higher than the existing model, it now comes at Rs 4.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai). The all new model gets stylish and bold graphics, new gray beige interiors, bull bars and fuel tank guard.

The company has been doing pretty good in terms of sales, they have sold a total 20,479 units and has become the market leader in eight states where it was launched and today accounts for 31 per cent of total share on those states. The company further spoke about its expansion plans, they are confident enough to take their distribution network to 89 and mark their presence to 11 states by end of the year, Commenting on the company's expansion plans, Nitin Seth- Executive Director- LCV and Defence, Ashok Leyland said, "At the time of launch, we introduced it in six states. We added Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan in the last quarter. We are looking at Madhya Pradesh, National Capital Region and Uttar Pradesh down the year,"
