CarDekho has been regularly updating you about the Ashok Leyland's upcoming MPV Stile, which was showcased at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo. At the same event, Nissan had also showcased the NV200 badged as Evalia for the Indian market. Evalia was launched a year before in India, and now after year and half years Ashok Leyland has announced that the Stile MPV will be launched on July 16. With Stile MPV, the country's leading commercial vehicle maker is aiming to increase its foot-prints in the fast growing utility vehicle segment.
The Ashok Stile looks similar to its sibling Evalia, but comes with subtle revisions to its fascia such as the badge on the bonnet rather than the grille and a revised bumper. The rear too looks similar to that of the Evalia, the only change is the logo. The interiors of the Stile are also sourced from the Evalia MPV, the only change is that the Nissan badge is replaced with Ashok Leyland's. It is also speculated that the Stile MPV could receive the captain seats for the middle row, which is also expected to be featured in the upcoming facelift of Evalia. While the cabin space and the luggage carrying capacity of the vehicle too will be similar to the Evaila.
The Ashok Leyland Stile will be available in two engine options- diesel and CNG/Petrol. The vehicle will be powered by the renowned 1.5-litre Renault K9k turbocharged diesel engine, that also does it duty to the Nissan's Evalia. The engine is capable of developing 85bhp and a peak torque of 200Nm. The engine is coupled to a five speed manual transmission. It is expected that the Stile will be priced around Rs. 50,000 lower than the Evalia MPV.
