The craze for the hybrid technology is slowly catching up. And the luxury car manufacturers like BMW could not escape the infectious bug. Its official now, so we are free to announce the news. The new partnership began to flower between the German car manufacturer and the Japanese auto giant. Once again the same expectations, just like the Suzuki-Volkswagen duo. Right from sedans to SUVs, BMW offers its entire line-up in diesel and petrol variants in India. Its dominance in the diesel technology is not unknown across the globe. This very fact has attracted the Toyota Motors to form a pact and seek benefits mutually. BMW is especially known as a pioneer in introducing the Variable Twin Turbo diesel engines. The dual stage turbo charging system has been particularly acclaimed to increase the performance of the engine by 28%. The low fuel consumption and emission standards are the points to drive the success beyond expectations. What other than Toyota Prius can be the right example to prove Toyota's stance in the hybrid cars. Another step towards its success is the launch of the 2012 Toyota Prius with its hybrid plug-in engine slated for a launch in the first quarter of next year.

The only concern looming over the partnership deal is the negative influence of soon to fall-apart alliance of Volkswagen-Suzuki. However, the situation is literally reversed in the present case. Volkswagen-Suzuki deal was never meant to be fruitful to begin with. Not a single project turned out in favour of any of them. However, an ultimatum is delivered by Suzuki Motors to call off the entire deal. The latest blow came when the Japanese auto major has asked the German brand to sell back the former's stake in the partnership.
