Fiat India Automobiles may consider price hike

Carmaker Fiat India Automobiles will raise the prices of its products as the margins are under pressure. The company expects sales to cross 27,000 units this year on the back of newly recent launched small car Fiat Grande Punto and Sedan Fiat Linea. Fiat had announced Rs 4,000 crore investment in India operations. Rajeev Kapoor also said the company would start exporting Fiat Linea to South Africa from this year in September. Fiat India Automobiles has a joint venture between Italy's Fiat and Tata Motors which has recently arranged Rs 2,500 crore financing for completing the construction of its manufacturing facility at Chakan.
