Ford EcoSport to Launch in Indonesia by 2014, India launch by June

Ford India has recently unveiled the EcoSport compact SUV in India and is expected to launch by June End. Last year, the company showcased the crossover SUV at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo and bagged tremendous response from critics and visitors. 

The crossover is specially built for developing nations, the car has been selling in South American countries like Brazil and Argentina and recieved excellent response from buyers. The American auto-major will launch the EcoSport in the Indonesian markets by 2014. Indian buyers too are waiting for the launch of EcoSport. The company has already begun the promotional campaign for the crossover SUV. Ford EcoSport SUV will be placed at shopping malls across 12 Indian cities for common people before it is officially launched by June end. As per media, the Ford EcoSport compact SUV will be priced in the range of Rs. 5.9 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh. 

Additionally, the company has also started a promotional activity known as “EcoSport Urban Discoveries” contest, which will give 105 lucky members the golden opportunity to drive EcoSport before it is launched. The last date to join the contest is 31st March.  

India-bound EcoSport is all set to sizzle Indian streets and will come equipped with various advanced features. The car will be positioned below the company's flagship sedan Fiesta and expected to share most of its features with the sedan. The EcoSport will come equipped with safety features such as rear parking sensors, driver and front passenger air bags and curtain airbags besides ABS, EBD and keyless entry. The EcoSport will come with three different engine options - 1.0 liter turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine, a 1.5 liter turbocharged diesel engine and a 1.5 liter petrol engine. The engines will be coupled to a five speed manual transmission.
