Honda confirmed to showcase a new small car

Honda India has confirmed that it is going to showcase its new small car concept (Code Name:-2CV) in New Delhi Auto Expo. Honda is all set to position this model in the small car segment below Honda Jazz which was launched in a premium hatchback segment. Initially the car will be manufactured in India and it is expected that Honda will also establish its manufacturing base for this global small car in India. Honda has named this car as “ New Small Concept”. The company has not disclosed any details of the car till now.

It is expected that the official launch of this new small car will be done by second half of year 2011. Not only India but other emerging countries are also expected to witness the launch of this new small car. Honda India launched its Honda Jazz model in the country though because of its high price failed to convince an average Indian hatchback buyer. The new small car of Honda will compete with other upcoming small cars like Volkswagen Polo and Ford Figo. Along with small car concept, Honda will also showcase its Hybrid Sports car concept, CR-Z also in this year's Auto Expo.
