Honda raised price of its models in India

Leading car manufacturer Honda is planning to increase its products price in India. According to Honda Siel Cars India Ltd, which is a part of Japan's Honda Motors, the company has increased the price of its models in India. The Honda vehicles have gone costlier by up to 3.5 lakh rupees. The company earlier announced that its models may get expensive in the mid of this year.


The Honda City, Honda Civic and Honda CRV will get costlier from April 1, 2009 while Accord will get costlier from March 16 onwards. Honda City 1.5 E MT will get costlier by more then 30,000 rupees while the new Honda Accord will get costlier by more then 1 lakh Rupees. Price of Honda Civic will increase by more then 50,000 rupees. According to company the main reason behind this price increase is decreasing value of rupees within last few months.
