Honda to launch new small car in India soon

Honda's much awaited new small car is expected to be launched in India sooner then previously announced time period. In January the company announced that it will launch this car by the firs quarter of year 2011, but now it is expected that the car may hit the Indian market by end of year 2010, as the company is working hard on the production of this model and the car is reportedly almost ready for the production.

A concept of this car, named as, Honda New Small Car Concept, was showcased at Delhi Auto Expo and the car attracted a large number of automobile enthusiasts and visitors at that time. According to some news reports, Honda hasn't left any stone unturned to make sure the early launch of this car in India, as Toyota Motors, an arc rival of Honda in Japanese market, has already announced that it will launch its premium hatchback Toyota Etios by the end of this year.

Besides Toyota Etios, the new small car of Honda will compete with many popular cars in India, including Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Alto and Wagon R, Ford Figo and Volkswagen Polo. However, it is expected that the car will be launched with a high price tag compare to price of other small hatchbacks in India, as its premium hatchback Honda Jazz is the most expensive hatchback in its segment.
