Fiat will be bringing facelifted Grande Punto in India by this August, claims a latest report from Autocar. The upgraded Punto will sport a new frontal look as-well-as the interiors.
On the outside, the new Grande Punto is quite different from the on-going model. Keeping intact the over-all design and stance of the on-going model, the new Grande Punto features a new front fascia that incorporates swept-back headlights, a new square shaped chrome front grille and tweaked bumpers. The other prominent change on the exteriors are the new design of alloys, which looks way better than the current one. While the changes at the rear are still not clear. Now moving inside, the cabin of the refreshed Grande Punto, also features some new elements, such as a new Avventura-inspired dashboard, with similar design and layout as the elder sibling Linea. Although, the cabin will lack a bit on gadgetry and goodies front, considering its cost-boundations.
Mechanically, the new Grande Punto will be identical to the on-going model. Petrol variants will be powered by a 67 bhp-1.2-litre petrol engine, while the diesel variants will be offered with the trusted 1.3-litre multijet diesel mill. The 1.3-litre diesel motor will be offered in two states of tune– 75 bhp and 90 bhp with top-of-the-line trim. Though, there is still no confirmation over the arrival of Linea's 1.4-litre T-Jet turbo-petrol motor.
As the new Punto is about to arrive, Fiat is giving massive discounts on the Punto currently. A recent offer provided a minimum assured value of Rs 1,00,000 for your old car which could be of any make and any condition.
After the launch of new Grande Punto, Fiat will be bringing its beefed-up version too. Christened as Avventura, the crossover version of the standard Grande Punto will compete with the likes of Volkswagen Cross Polo and the recently introduced Toyota Etios Cross when it arrives in the market.
Carrying the over-all rugged styling elements, the Avventura surely looks way aggressive and bolder than the Grande Punto. The matte-black plastic cladding around the crossover's body is quite evident and adds to the all-round masculine stance. Racked back smoked projector headlights, dual-tone bumpers, roof rails and repatterned front grille are some of the other things that easily differentiates it from the Punto.
