Karun Chandhok Made India Proud at Le Mans Motor Race, Finished at 6th

This years 24 Hours Le Mans Motor Race which happenned in the past weekend in France, was the 80th running of this historical race. This race is one of the most prestigious motor sport events and is seen worldwide. Teams from all over the world take part in this 24 hours race, which not only examine test driving skills and vehicle competency but the survival ability as well. Many car makers bagged the awards at this year's Le Mans endurance race, especially Audi performed really well, which topped the event by wining the top three slots by its R18 e-tron quattro and R18 ultra vehicles.
But something which made every Indian proud, was the participation of Indian racing driver, Karun Chandhok, who had a great debut at the event, and finished at 6th in the LMP1 class. Previously, Karun Chandhok had driven in the GP2 Series thrice, and won 2 out of them. Later he competed in F1, 2010 for Hispania Racing. Prior to GP2, Chandhok has won the Formula Asia championship 2001 as well. The longest stint taken by chandok was of 2 hours and 51 minutes at a stretch. He drove it for 22 hours straight by the end of the fourth stint since the race started, which made him finishing at 6th rank. Karunk Chandhok became the first Indian driver to particiapte in the most prestigious Le Mans 24 hours race. We wish him all the luck for the coming championships, keep making us proud. Cheers!!
