Making of Auto Expo 2010

The preparation of the Auto Expo 2010 was in last stage on 4th January. All the participant were giving final touch to their respective pavilions. Our Cardekho team caught all the development live and captured a wide range of information from the venue-Pragati Maiden. On Monday, a large number of people gathered to have a look on the preparation which includes general people, media person, event teams etc. We noticed pavilions of major auto players like Hyundai, Honda, Tata, Maruti, Audi, Fiat, Volkswagen, BMW, Skoda, Mercedes, Chevrolet etc. Major two-wheeler companies are also taking part in the world's second largest Auto Expo after China. These companies includes Hero Honda, Bajaj Auto, TVS Motors, Harley Davidson, Honda etc.

Now coming on Chevrolet , the pavilion of the company would have a majestic look. It will house a launch stage decorated with a good number of coloured halogen and great music. Various platforms for the Chevrolet vehicles are being made and some of them already landed at there. These includes Chevrolet Cruze LTZ, Chevrolet Spark (electric) and other vehicles. The total area of the pavilion is around 2,000 sq ft.

Hyundai to be launched vehicles are Hyundai i10 electric in hatchback segment and Hyundai H1 in MUV (Multi Utility Vehicle) segment.

The second pavilion we visited was Renault. The Renault pavilion was there just near by Chevrolet. There were so many new and existing cars which were fully covered. But it seems they would be products which were expected to drive in the Auto Expo.

The most exciting area of Auto Expo is comprised of around 7 OEMs in one arena. These OEMs include BMW, Audi, Skoda, Tata, Fiat, Jaguar, Land Rover and Mercedes. The concept sports car and a historical car are to be the attraction of the pavilion. While Audi R8 would be displayed at the show. Skoda Yeti and Skoda Fabia Green were waiting outside their respective pavilions which would be shifted there before time. Tata Indica electric was also wrapped in cover and we just manged to identify it somehow. Senior officials of various companies were seen busy with preparation at the show. Almost all the officials and dignitaries were present in the capital to attend the expo and grace the expected launches. However, media day will be held on 5th January.

Hybrid vehicles were being used for carry visitors and goods inside the venue. We noticed TVS King hybrid and Mahindra vehicles at work. On the other hand, many people were seen helpless due to lack of right information about pavilion and venue. Security arrangements were at its best and it seems no failure will occur during the Auto Expo.
