Maruti hope to see recovery in June
Maruti Suzuki India's (MSI) largest car manufacturer and Second largest car exporter, 54.2 per cent owned by Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp, hopes to see a recovery in its profitability in the June quarter. It is to be mentioned here that the company posted a growth of 15% in the month of April 2009 compare to same period of last year. Company sold 71,748 units sold in April as compared to 62,336 units in the same period of last year. This is the fourth consecutive year in which company sales crossed a mark of 70,000. Managing director and chief executive, MSI, Shinzo Nakanishi told reporters here on Monday that last year, their profitability was not satisfactory. The company expected some recovery in the June quarter. The recovery would be due to lower commodity prices, he said. He hoped exports would cross 100,000 cars in the current financial year to March 2010 from 70,000 cars last year.
