MG Windsor EV Likely To Get Larger 50 kWh Battery Pack In May, Here’s What To Expect
The MG Windsor EV’s Indonesian sibling, the Wuling Cloud EV, already gets the larger 50.6 kWh battery pack on its home turf
The MG Windsor EV is likely to get some crucial updates in May 2025. One of the biggest additions could be the bigger 50 kWh battery pack, which its Indonesia version, the Wuling Cloud EV, already gets. Until now, the best-selling EV on our shores is offered only with a 38 kWh battery. The updated Windsor could also borrow some features from its international version.
Let’s dive into what we can expect from the updated Windsor.
Updated Powertrain
Internationally, the Wuling Cloud EV gets a 50.6 kWh battery pack, which is what the MG Windsor EV could be offered. Here’s a quick comparison of the current MG Windsor EV and the upcoming larger battery pack variant:

Since no changes have been made to the electric motor specifications, it’s very evident that the Windsor EV with the bigger battery pack offers a significantly higher claimed range.
New Features
The MG Windsor has been an electric car that’s selling like hotcakes in the Indian market, and the carmaker could use this opportunity to make its package even more appealing. This means the updated Windsor EV could offer more than just a bigger battery.
It might derive features from its international counterpart such as a 4-way powered front seat for the co-driver and level-2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking. These features are currently unavailable in the existing Windsor EV sold in India.
Other than that, it will continue with its existing features like a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, a 10.1-inch digital driver’s display, a 9-speaker Infinity audio system, ventilated front seats with 6-way power adjustment for the driver side, tilt telescopic steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, wireless phone charger, automatic AC, 135-degree reclining rear seats, a fixed glass roof, cruise control and 256-colour ambient lighting.
Apart from the probable addition of ADAS, it will also continue with its safety features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill start and hill descent control, rear parking sensors, electronic parking brake with auto hold, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat mounts and a 360-degree camera.
Price Rivals
The MG Windsor EV is currently priced as below:
With Battery Rental fee (Rs 3.9 per km) |
Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh |
Vehicle as a whole |
Rs 14 lakh to Rs 16 lakh |
*Prices are ex-showroom, pan-India
Considering the larger battery pack, the updated MG Windsor EV will carry a notable premium over the current model. It will continue to rival the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV as well as the Tata Punch EV.
