BMW is working on the next-generation X6 crossover and will launch this luxurious SUV after the new X4 crossover arrives next year. The exact launch timing for the new SUV's is under curtains, but the new X6 SUV is likely to make its global debut at the Moscow motor show next year. The luxurious SUV will be put on sale by the third quarter of next year.
The next-generation X6 is based on the same platform as the next X5, the new BMW X6 will follow the form of current model but with even more aggressive styling. According to Autocar UK, one of the insider said,"We want to give our sporting models a more individual look, further separating them visually from the more practical models in our line-up".
The next generation X6 will also be longer than the current model to offer a better and longer rear legroom. The new X6 will be powered by the in-line six cylinder petrol and diesel engines, plus V8 petrol units, with a plug-in petrol-electric hybrid set to introduce in 2015.
Recently, BMW has revealed the first images of the pre-production version of the company's next crossover, the X4, which is expected to make its global debut at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, which will start on April 21. The rear moniker of "BMW Concept X4" given on the images of the car proves the vehicle to be a concept as of now. The huge alloys, distinguished bumpers and chrome makes it look aggressive. It will sit below the company's most popular crossover SUV X6 and rumored to be market as a Sports Activity Coupe (SAC).
