New Maruti Swift, VW Jetta launch likely to clash on August 17th

Looks like August 17th is going to be a very interesting day for Indian auto market,  two major launches are expected to take place on that day. The upgraded version of Maruti Swift hatchback and all new Volkswagen Jetta sedan launch are expected to clash on August 17th.  Both have been very successful in their respective segments with proven track record.

Maruti India had stopped the production of the current Maruti Swift hatchback some time back as it had been gearing up for the new Maruti Swift launch scheduled to occur on 17th of August this year. Maruti Swift has been occupying the top position in the small car segment of auto market, which has made the retouched version of Maruti Swift launch all the more exciting. It has been reported that the bookings for this new Maruti Swift version are pouring down and the customers are ready to wait for 3 months to finally own the zippy hatchback.

The new Maruti Swift is said to have superior features as compared to its current version and is going to be available in both the petrol and the diesel variants. Equipped with the 1.2 litre petrol engine, it is expected to churn out 89.6 Bhp of maximum power, while the diesel variant comes with 1.3 litre multi-jet engine which can produce a maximum power of 80 Bhp. While the petrol variant gives an excellent mileage of 21.5 km per litre, the diesel variant provides the fuel efficiency of 25.8 km per litre. The new Maruti Swift is going to be available in seven variants which are Maruti Swift LXi, Maruti Swift VXi, Maruti Swift LDi , Maruti Swift LDi AT, Maruti Swift ZDi, Maruti Swift ZXi and Maruti Swift VDi. New Maruti Swift Price is going to be about Rs 30, 000 more than the current model price, however, the Maruti Swift ZDi and ZXi with cost Rs 7.6 lakhs and Rs 6.8 lakhs respectively.

The German auto giant Volkswagen’s  Indian subsidiary Volkswagen India’s mid-sized sedan Volkswagen Jetta is also coming with an all new look on 17th of August, 2011. This retouched sedan is also available to the public in both the fuel variants. It is going to come with 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine and 1.8 litre TSI petrol engine. The new Volkswagen Jetta is believed to be adorned with sportier looks compared to its existing model and with plush interiors to provide more comfort. . It is also being expected that the new VW Jetta will be longer in length. Another captivating feature of 2011 Volkswagen Jetta is it has DSG gearbox with six-speed automatic as well as manual gear system. With the new Volkswagen Jetta launch, this premium sedan car is likely to compete with its contemporaries like Skoda Laura, Toyota Corolla Altis and Honda Civic.
