Finally its was good to see some new faces at the podium of Canadian Grand Prix as Red-Bull's driver Daniel Ricciardo clinched his first ever win in Formula One while his four-time world champion teammate Sebastian Vettel managed to acquire third position. However, the second position was still owned by the team Mercedes as the driver Nico Rosberg finished second.

For the team Mercedes, Canadian Grand Prix was a bit disappointing race. Lewis Hamilton even failed to complete his race because of the faulty brakes while his teammate Rosberg faced ERS malfunction right from the middle of the race. Moreover, Sergio Perez though gave tough competition to the Mercedes driver but call it fate, he too was not able to complete the race as he got his F1 car crashed with only one lap to go.

At the podium, Daniel Ricciardo drenched in Champagne said, "We achieved a great result today with first and third – so let's enjoy it – but we will still have some work to do also." Commenting on his first ever F1 win, "I'm a grand prix winner! I think it still seems a bit surreal to be honest, just because it all happened so quickly at the end. I was third for a while and then it all happened in a really exciting fashion. Once I got past Perez I knew I just had to drive clean and get in Rosberg's DRS zone and, from then on, it was just awesome. Finishing under the safety car made it a bit weird, but I wanted to make sure the two drivers who were in the accident were okay before I started celebrating."

Jenson Button of team McLaren finished fourth while his partner Kevin Magnussen managed to complete the race by scoring 2 points as he finished at 9th position. For Force India, Nico Hulkenberg came fifth and scored 10 points but it was quite an unfortunate moment of Sergio Perez as he faced accident on his 69th lap. Driving his red hot Ferrari, Fernando Alonso managed to finish at 6th position while his team partner Kimi Räikkönen finished at 10th position.

In the team's tally, Mercedes still leading its way with 258 points followed by the last year's champions Red Bull Racing-Renault with 139 points. From the race track of Canada, the F1 circuit now moves to Austria, where drivers look to break the lap record of the legend Michael Schumacher.
