Renault, the French automaker has officially unveiled the Duster Detour Concept just ahead of 2013 Johannesburg International Motor Show. The vehicle is exclusive to South Africa and Renault aficionados, and the same vehicle will also be present at the 2013 JIMS, running from 18-27 October at the Expo Centre, Nasrec.
The Renault Duster Detour is developed by the collaborative work between Renault Design Central Europe and a specialised South African design studio based in Johannesburg... think Mad Max with a touch of the Terminator. The vehicle's body heightened by a raised suspension and is painted in a two-tone Pearl Yellow and Matt Grey colors. Tinted windows with black pillar masks are standard throughout, while 18 inch customised alloy wheels, fitted with all-terrain tyres, plus widened wheel arches, keep Renault Duster Détour grounded.
The front end of the Renault Duster Detour gets a pearl yellow dynamite, and features a custom grille with chrome finish, daytime running lights as well as custom headlamp clusters finished in complementary pearl yellow. The side profile of the car gets graphics from back to front. It also features rear roof spoiler, black LED tail lights and double exhausts and silencer with rear diffuser, which further enhances the overall ruggedness of the car.
“We’ve had an enormous amount of fun in integrating the key design equipment and eye-catching elements that have gone in to making up the Renault Duster Détour” says Geoffrey Gardiner, Director at Renault Design Central Europe.
