Renault Koleos crossover SUV to be launched on Sep 8

Renault Koleos, the crossover SUV and the second offering by Renault India will be launched on September 8. Right from the day when the French automaker broke it ties with the homegrown SUV maker Mahindra, it took an aggressive stand and has chalked out a long term strategy for India. It started its maiden journey in India with Renault Fluence launched on May 23 this year and had clearly slated the launch of four more cars till fourth quarter in 2012.

Renault Koleos is the second car launch by Renault. As preliminary reports suggest, Renault Koleos price in India is expected to be between Rs 16 lakh to Rs 18 lakh. Once the Renault Koleos is in, it will take on Ford Endeavour, Chevrolet Captiva, Honda CR-V and Mitsubishi Outlander besides others.

According to reports, upcoming Renault SUV Renault Koleos will be the facelift version of the Renault Koleos that is in the market worldwide since 2008. The details by Renault India suggest that the crossover compact SUV will be available in diesel only option. A 2L DCi turbo engine will power the Koleos and give it the thrust required in an SUV. The engine is able to produce 150 bhp of power that drives the upcoming Renault SUV to be in the full grown SUV segment. This engine has been mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox in order to help transmit power to the wheels at every gearshift. The Renault SUV will be a four wheel drive car.

Other Renault Koleos specifications include Cruise Control and speed limiter besides leather upholstery on the inside to keep intact the sporty looks apart from this the new SUV also has Bose Surround Music System to keep entertainment on the go. In addition to it Renault Koleos also has twin hatchback door design that imbibes in it the capacity of a larger luggage space.
