The home-grown auto major, Tata Motors has been reportedly working on a diesel and a CNG version of Tata Nano, which will help the India's cheapest car to be the most fuel efficient four-wheeler ever produced in India. The Tata Nano diesel has been spotted testing many times at several places, and now we see the car once again, this time in Bangalore. The pictures were caught by Shoubhik Das and hosted by PowerDrift on their official Facebook fan page.
The car however doesn't have any tag/sticker indicating it to be a diesel version, Shoubhik claims it to be a diesel engine powered car due to diesel-engine like noise the caught version was producing while running. The new Tata Nano Diesel doesn’t appear to have any changes on the outside, the only change we are expecting the car to have is the sub- 1.0-litre diesel motor along with a whole new exhaust arrangement.
There is also not any official confirmation on the exact power specs of the car, we are hoping it to be returning the fuel economy as much as 35kmpl. While the price should be around Rs 2.5-3 lakh, making it the cheapest diesel car ever produced.
This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same. Cheers!
