Team Orion Racing of Mumbai's KJ Somaiya Won the First JK Tyre Formula Design Challenge 2015

Team Orion Racing India of KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai won the first JK Tyre Formula Design Challenge 2015. The event was witnessed by over 900 engineering students from 36 engineering colleges. The winners was chosen by an esteemed panel, consisting of Ian Thomson, Maria Bonilla-Torres, System Designer for Robert Bosch GmbH and Felix Scherke, Research Engineer at Daimler. Team Formula Manipal (Manipal University) and Pravega Racing (VIT University) stood at second and third positions respectively.
In the static events, Orion Racing from K J Somaiya, Mumbai won Business Plan and Design contest while the NIT, Calicut’s Team Unwired won the Cost event. In dynamic round, KJ Somaiya performed well and won Endurance and Fuel efficiency contest. Manipal University’s Team Formula Manipal was the winner in Acceleration and Skidpad events while Team Octane of COE Pune won the Autocross round.
