With the next year's Indian Auto Expo getting closer, the car manufacturers are busy in doing their final preparations to make it a remarkable one for themselves. Like others, the Japanese carmaker Toyota too has some plans to get more closer to its prospective buyers across the nation. We expect that the company could unveil at least a couple of products at the show including new 2014 Toyota Corolla and the facelifted Fortuner SUV.
The all new Corolla has been spotted several times during its test rounds on the Indian streets, and media reports suggest that the vehicle will be unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, and it will go on sale by the next year's festive season or by early 2015. Moreover, Toyota could also unveil the facelifted Fortuner, which they have already launched in the Indonesian market, however nothing has been confirmed yet.
The next Corolla gets new LED headlights, tail lamps and restyled alloy wheels. The vehicle is now larger in dimensions than its predecessors, and features more prominent lines. With an increased wheelbase of around 75mm, the new saloon has spacious interiors. Inside the cabin, it now features an updated dashboard, new instrument cluster and upholstery. The vehicle now sports several advanced technological features such as bluetooth hands-free calling and a push button start.
The new Corolla will be made available in both petrol and diesel guise. While the petrol model is expected to get the 138bhp, 1.8-litre VVT-i engine, the diesel model will be powered by a 1.4-litre D-4D turbo mill that churns out 87bhp. The diesel powertrain will be coupled to a six-speed manual transmission, while the petrol model comes with a choice of two gearbox- a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic CVTi-S.
Like Innova facelift which was first launched in Indonesia then came to India, we also expect that Toyota could also bring in the Fortuner facelift. The same was launched in the Indonesian market a couple of month back. It is also speculated that the company could launch the refreshed TRD Sportivo Kit for this SUV. The regular model will get a couple of LED strips, which acts as daytime running lights. The facelifted Fotuner has a chrome grille, skirts on bumpers and restyled alloy wheels. The cabin of the vehicle now features a new entertainment system with a DVD player on board.
Earlier it was reported that Toyota could unveil its Rush crossover at the show, but we are not expecting this to happen. This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for more updates on the same. Cheers!!
