Upcoming Luxury cars at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo

The 2014 Indian Auto Expo is around the corner and globally renowned carmakers are busy doing their final preparations to make this event a remarkable one. To make this event a grand affair and bigger than ever, the organizers are not leaving any stone unturned. Even luxury and ultra luxury carmakers are ready to explore the growing Indian market and are considering the next Auto Expo to be a perfect place to show their products. To make things easier for you, we brought a list of luxury cars to be unveiled at the next Show.

Mercedes-Benz CLA - To acquire a major chunk in the luxury car market of India, the German luxury carmaker is planning to launch a series of compact luxury cars including CLA-Class and the GLA Class. The company already introduced the A-Class and B-Class, and is all set to unveil the new CLA compact luxury sedan at the next year's Indian Auto Expo.

BMW 3 Series GT - The all-new BMW 3 Series GT will be the company's next big product to be introduced in India by next year. The same will also be unveiled at the 2014 Auto Show. It will be a locally produced product, which will help the company to keep its costs down. It will be the seventh product to roll out from the company's Chennai based plant. It is likely to be powered by the 2-litre diesel powertrain producing 184bhp, while the petrol model gets a 2-litre engine that puts out 306bhp. A performance oriented 3-litre engine could also make its way to India, which is capable of developing 306bhp. The engines will be mated to an eight-speed automatic only.

BMW 3 Series GT

Audi A3 -  The German luxury carmaker has A1 premium hatch in the international market, but the company is aiming to launch the A3 compact premium sedan in India. The new Audi A3 has been spotted several times in the country during its test rounds and it is likely to hit the Indian shores in 2014. The vehicle will first unveil at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. It will be made available in both petrol and diesel version. While the petrol model gets 1.4-litre TFSI and a 1.8-litre TFSI engine, the diesel model will also feature a 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre diesel engine.

The new Audi A3 has been spotted several times in India during its test rounds, and it is likely to hit the Indian shores in 2014. We expect that the company could introduce the vehicle at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, where its rival will also present their vehicles. According to some media reports, Mercedes-Benz will unveil its all-new GLA crossover and BMW could display its i3 and i8 at the Expo.

Jaguar F Type Coupe- The ultra-luxury carmaker that unveiled the all new F-Type Coupe at the LA Motor Show, is expected to be showcased at the next year's Indian Auto Expo. The company described the beast as the most dynamically capable, performance-based sports car that Jaguar has ever produced. The range topping F-Type R Coupe gets Jaguar's 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that develops 542bhp. The other two models gets the 3.0-litre V6 supercharged engine that develops 374bhp and 335bhp, respectively.

Jaguar C-X17- Jaguar's first ever sports crossover concept vehicle- the C-X17- was unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Since then, the company displayed this vehicle in Dubai Motor Show and Guangzhon Auto Show in China. We expect that the company could also display the concept at the next Indian Motor Show.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class- The luxury carmaker seems aggressive with its product strategy for the Indian car market. The Stuttgart-based manufacturer will present the S-Class premium saloon at the next year's Indian Auto Expo. It might not generate volume sales for the company, but this flagship model has best-in-class features, comfort and driveability, and will surely attract the business class buyers.

2014 Range Rover Evoque- Land Rover will present the 2014 Range Rover Evoque at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show. It comes equipped with a range of new comfort, convenience, connectivity features and several new technologies. The vehicle now features a new 9-speed automatic transmission, new driver assistance features and others. The 2014 Evoque continues to be powered by the company's range of economical and light weight 4-cylinder engines with a choice of either the 2.2 diesel 148bhp engine, 2.2 diesel 187bhp engine or 2.0 Petrol 236bhp engine (depending on market).

BMW X5- The 3rd generation X5 was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and is expected to be launched the Indian market as well. To be unveiled at the next year's Auto Show, the vehicle has already been available in several international markets. The crossover now features a broader kidney grilles with chrome surrounds, tall upright stance, new tailgate, LED integrated headlamps and several other changes.

Land Rover Discovery 2014 - Land Rover will present the refreshed 2014 Discovery at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The model gets a new look, new badging, improved audio systems and the new range of driver assistance, comfort and safety features. The front fascia of the vehicle gets a new front grille, new bumper, restyled headlamps, new DRLs and others. The 2014 Discovery is powered by a 3-litre SDV6 engine, mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, producing 255bhp.
