My experience is very nice after driven one year with my new maruti suzuki grand vitara. I have driven the car 300 kilometres continuously and it performed very well. I have got mileage around 21-22 kilometres/litter. Engine is soundless (really a silent predator)and very comfortable driving, that is why the most people prefer maruti suzuki engine.
