Hyundai Elantra 2015-2019 expert review
Overview
Hyundai’s D-segment stalwart - the Elantra - is in its sixth generation now A global best-seller, the sedan initially fumbled in the Indian market, before going on to displacing the segment leader - the Toyota Corolla. The all-new avatar promises to be better than ever, features a plethora of new technology and a new engine as well. Does the Elantra have what it takes to catapult back to the number one spot? Let’s find out -
Verdict
In its latest iteration, the Hyundai Elantra has tweaked its recipe to make it one notch better. It is more refined, safer, and equally fuel-efficient. It isn’t the sportiest of the lot, but it does well as an everyday commuter.

Pros & Cons of Hyundai Elantra 2015-2019
- Things We Like
- Things We Don't Like
- Fluidic design is clean and crisp. Turns a lot of heads.
- Feature packed - projector headlamps with daytime running lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, sunroof etc.
- 2.0-litre petrol engine is super silent and refined.
- Six-speed automatic transmission is quick to shift, gear changes are smooth as well.
- Comfortable ride quality, best-suited for the chauffeur driven.
- Not for the enthusiast. 1.6-litre diesel feels underpowered compared to immediate rivals.
- Hard plastics used on the interior buttons and switches feel out of place in an otherwise premium interior
- Under-thigh support in the rear bench could have been better. Headroom is slightly compromised due to the sloping roofline as well.
- Most feel-good features limited to top-end variant only

Hyundai Elantra's Pros: Refined engine. Gets a full-size tyre with alloy. Nice reverse parking camera. Good pickup. Fells like you are in a higher segment. Cons: Could have a better boot space. The smart trunk is not that smart. Rear under-thigh support could be better. Overall had a good experience with Hyundai.Read More
- Best Sedan Car
This is the best sedan as compared to its competitors. I am a big fan of this car. But its interior not looks premium i.e. it is a premium sedan. Its exterior is very very similar to the Jaguar from my side. Everyone has their own choice to think about how their car should look. It has all the features that a premium sedan must-have. In fact, it comes with ventilated seats which are first in the segment. Although, it has a very good Hyundai dealership which provides a very good service.Read More
