The 2019 Volvo S90 is suited to meet the needs of the driver with optimal engine performance. It has three available engines to choose between. The first is the T5, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline 4 cylinder producing 258 horsepower with 250 lb-ft of torque, which is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The next engine is the T6, which adds a supercharger to the T5 engine, which increases the power output to 316 horsepower with 295 lb-ft of torque. This engine option also uses an 8-speed transmission and has AWD standard. The last engine, the T8 adds an electric motor to incorporate hybrid capabilities with AWD standard. This engine fires out 400 horsepower with a mighty 472 lb-ft of torque! The T8 also gets 29 MPG and adds an equivalent 71 MPG when in hybrid mode. SAFETY Volvo's commitment to safety is top notch, and the 2019 Volvo S90 sees that to be true. It has every safety option standard. This includes a rear-view camera with reversing sensors rear park assist as well as cross traffic alert. It has adaptive cruise control to make sure your vehicle maintains a safe distance between the S90 and the vehicle in front. It has collision mitigation, lane keeping assistance, both of which will automatically adjust brake pressure and steering to maintain safety when the driver does not react in time. Lane departure warning paired with those to let the driver know if they are moving out of their driving lane unintentionally without signaling. The 2019 Volvo S90 also has Driver Alert Control, Road Sign recognition, and animal detection with auto brake.Read More

June 30, 2017: The Volvo S90 now comes with radar-based safety tech, which makes the car even safer to be in. The updated safety kit includes features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, collision warning and blind-spot detection.
The Volvo S90 has also received five star safety rating by Euro NCAP. Tested against Euro NCAP’s 2017 test regime, the Volvo S90 surpassed the best overall score of any model tested for safety in 2016.
The S90 is Volvo's flagship sedan and is available in a single variant – Inscription – in India. Volvo launched it at a price of Rs 53.5 lakh (pre-octroi ex-showroom, Mumbai). It will primarily go up against the popular German sedans – the Mercedes-Benz E Class, BMW 5 Series and the Audi A6 – along with the Jaguar XF. The S90 shares its platform – scalable product architecture (SPA) – along with a lot of features and powertrains with the XC90 SUV globally. In India, it will be powered solely by the ‘D4’ 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that makes 190PS of power and 400Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that channels the output only to the front wheels.
