San Motors cars
San Motors was conceived as a never done before project in India. Since independence in 1947, India had only four passenger car manufacturing companies of which two fell by the wayside. The models that were produced were ancient, but as there was no competition the consumer had to be content with what was available. Automobile enthusiasts longed for a time when the automobile industry and the economy as a whole would open up. Then came the process of liberalization and suddenly India was the destination for global automobile producers. SAN Motors began life in 1996 with a vision to produce contemporary, exclusive, affordable, stunning cars that showcased Indian engineering and creative excellence.Cars that were designed by professionals for those of us who love the wheel in our hands and an open stretch to challenge our skills and thrill our senses.San Motors was an Indian car manufacturer that launched a budget convertible sportscar - the San Storm in 2001. Designed by the Le Mans Group of France, the San Storm was a two-seater convertible that was introduced at a price of just Rs. 5.3 lakh. However, no one really noticed the sportscar post its launch, owing to the unfamiliar brand name and poor marketing. The Storm was powered by a Renault-sourced 1.2-litre petrol engine that developed just over 60PS. Needless to say, the convertible didn't quite tick the right boxes in the performance department, with a 0-100kmph time of around 11 seconds. The company closed operations in 2013 due to mounting losses. The San Motors brand was on sale in India. It’s famous for its San Motors Storm models. The manufacturer 5.95 Lakh. There is no official word from the manufacturer on its re-entry into the Indian market.
