- Hyundai Verna, outstanding features at reasonable priceI bought Hyundai Verna 1.4 VTVT last year end, depending on its look which I found best in this segment, I feel renowned company like Hyundai can never make a low end vehicle, of course the taste of customer has to be satisfied to it?s fullest, Verna has a very attractive body design with metallic line finishing both the sides, it also has chrome plated grills at the front which makes the front look stunning, black angular head lamps gives the vehicle unique look , the rear bumper is bit large, but the raised rear bonnet makes the vehicle more appealing. The semi-circular roof is designed very cleverly as the person?s height increase he will shift the seat back for leg adjustment at the same time height above head also increase due to semi-circular roof design. Vehicle has sufficient ground clearance and a very nice suspension which never lets the body of car touch the bottom with five people inside. It has very good front bonnet design and the seat height gives a very clear front view. Hyundai Verna base model has dual tone interior which makes the vehicle very attractive from inside, being non fabric makes it to clean and maintain easily, the door pockets and pockets provided at bottom along with gear lever console people can use for milk packets, breads or packet food. It does not come with leather seat cover but little negotiation with dealer one can get it. Four front AC vents are sufficient to cool the vehicle within 3-4 minutes. Dash board display is amazing it makes the person to see all the parameters very easily without any difficulty, gear shifting indicator always guides the driver to run in proper gear for better power as well as better fuel economy. The dash board panel intensity is such that it never put stress on eyes. It automatically adjusts intensity depending on daytime/night. Back seats are although bench seats but too comfortable in sedan class, it has folding arm rest with cup holders one can use to put tea or cold drink. Leg room is also sufficient. Base model does not contain any infotainment system but no need to invest huge to get higher version for just infotainment system, I got 2-Din Sony 6.5 inch touch screen multimedia with Bluetooth fixed at price 15000 Rs only which has the rear camera connectivity, it has audio, video, Aux, USB and FM radio playing facilities, It goes well along with the inbuilt speakers of car which has huge bass boosters provided in the vehicle from the manufacturer itself, so no extra cost is incurred in the installation of new speakers. Performance of vehicle can be rated as very good as I am getting a mileage of 14 kilometre per litre in city as identical to small hatch back cars, whereas my friends having Honda City and Skoda they are getting little less though depending on parameters such as way of driving and road conditions. Gear shifting is very smooth, steering is very stable and can be moved with finger which makes this vehicle comfortable for parking or better cut in crowd. This vehicle looks big but gets handled like small car. I drove my vehicle in highway at speed of 80-100 kmph, it was fully balanced, smooth and got a mileage of 17 plus. For engine performance I would like to say it is good in city with five person inside, no frequent gear change is required vehicle is so smooth one can go up to 30 km/hr in second gear without any hitches. I feel for power there is no limitation, one need to spend more money and fuel if more and more power is required then one should certainly go for much higher end brands like Mercedes, Audi or BMW but at a cost of less than ten lakh Hyundai Verna to me seems the best option. This vehicle has quick response to accelerator paddle. Brakes with ABS and EBD makes the vehicle braking fully balanced when braking at high speed also. It has many safety features like air bags, ABS with EBD, no start of engine if clutch is not pressed, steering locking with wheels straight, all five safety belts, safety belt wearing buzzer, door lock indicator, child lock etc. Finishing protective touches given to the vehicle body is very good, I got Teflon coating on body and antirust coating in bottom by the dealer in the same price. I found few times vehicle rubbed against other vehicle but did not get scratch due to Teflon coating. Hyundai gave offer Rs 50K on vehicle and extra Rs 50K for exchange bonus summing to a total of Rs1 lakh saving for Verna 1.4 VTVT, which I got to purchase my vehicle. If one can get all four power windows, power & adjustable steering, two air bags, brakes with ABS and EBD, manual central lock, micro hybrid antenna, four speakers, 1.4 litre petrol engine in Base model and only extra 25K required for infotainment [double din, gps, rear camera] then to me there seems no reason to buy some other vehicle in this segment.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- ExcoooLove this car for comfort ,Performance ,Look wowo what a car ... I had reviewed the Honda City and Ciaz as well but vehicle offered at price I found best for Verna. Although Honda City is accepted by people as no.1 in performance but if one goes for performance and look both together then many may give Verna priority, that is the reason many of my colleague having Honda city, desire to drive Verna due to its style. Vehicle look is not doubt admiring best in this class even Honda City owner too feel Verna has the best look, engine is too good, smooth and powerful which never makes willing to run at speed less than 60 kmph, interior is spacious. Although this variant has no multimedia and navigation system and rear parking assistance but I got fixed Sony touch screen multimedia worth Rs12500 which has FM, Aux, DVD( no blue tooth, which needs to buy a multimedia set by Sony worth Rs15500) for audio and video play, which gives excellent sound quality with speakers already provided in the vehicle, additional Rs3000 for rear parking camera and sensor and Rs 6000 for navigation system makes the vehicle complete (No need to fix anything at rear view mirror restricting its use). This vehicle has complete satisfaction for money. I got in total Rs1 lakh discount by Hyundai additional to value of my old vehicle.I hopped 1.4 must be giving more mileage as compared to 1.6, the base version has almost all mandatory features and only Rs30000 is required to make it equivalent to one level higher variant. The only problem felt by me is to use seat belt, location of seat belt is such that it needs to twist the body to get seat belt but this can be a minor issue. Till now no any servicing is done and the vehicle is giving more than 12kmpl. Vehicle has gear shift indicator which assist to run the vehicle in proper gear. AC is too strong and no rear vents does not lacks the cooling performance. Since Hyundai all vehicles are well established there should not be chances of facing any trouble in vehicle with time so the performance of vehicle may the most important. I never drove the vehicle at speed more than 80 kmph as I do not prefer too high speed, at this speed good performance is observed. Beauty of this vehicle can be increased by Chrome garnishing which is missing at some point, but this may not be an expensive, issue can be done with ease. But there is no limitation for feature and beautification but I will say this vehicle is ready to drive just from show room and nothing to do except rear parking assistance and multimedia fixing. - Solid Body With Extraordinary performanceI Bought my hyundai verna in the month of June . From the moment i bought my car i was extremely happy that i haven't wasted my money . Coming to the car's exterior is similar to the older fluidic verna . coming to the interior, the dashboard looks rich and simple.the 2-din audio system is replaced with the new touch screen infotainment system which is really good and the "System UI" is cool . but sometimes the infotainment system hangs . Coming to the engine it's a 1.6 litre Diesel engine which produces a power of 128PS and 260Nm of torque . The car has two modes eco on and eco off Eco on is suitable for city driving which will gives us better mileage Eco off is suitable for highway driving which will give us lot of power Below 2000 RPM we will feel a little lag but after 2000 RPM its rushes like a "FERRARI" The New Verna 2016 has a shark fin, chilled glove box, auto rain sensing wipers, auto lights. The Brakes are solid and at high speeds you can have a gut feeling that this car can be slowed down easily when the brakes are applied Pros:1.6 litre Engine,Shark Fin,New Touch Infotainment System Cons: NothingRead MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Hyundai Verna Fluidic: Great for City RidingPROS: I bought this car 4 years ago and have been enjoying riding it around the city. It is sleek, aerodynamic, light and the trim is sharp and modern. It looks great, handles well, can take sharp turns at high speeds and comes to a halt within few meters when you brake. The electronics are up-to-date, air conditioning cools fairly quickly and the stock music system is loud enough to have a party in the car. It has ample boot space and comes with all standard features such as a spare wheel, toolkit and jack. Hyundai claims a city mileage of 14 Kmpl but I probably get somewhere around 11-12 Kmpl. Acceleration is quick and noise-free : this is a very, very quiet car. CONS: The clearance is low for a sporty look but in India that just means you'll hit more speed bumps if you don't slow down. The bucket seats can be uncomfortable on long drives. The car body is majorly made of fiber and as such doesn't feel strong. The couple of minor accidents I had required me to change bumpers and other parts. One of my pet peeves against Hyundai is the way they have designed the front bumper/lights assembly. On 2 separate occasions, my indicator light came off its joint and I had to replace the entire bumper as there was no way to replace JUST the light. COMPETITION: In the same segment, there are the Suzuki SX4/S-Cross, Fiat Linea, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid which offer decent alternatives. VERDICT: Overall, the Hyundai Verna is a good car if most of your driving is within city limits. It looks good and handles well. But if you do frequent highway driving, there are other options available out there. Also, I would highly recommend the DIESEL variants of this car- they were not available back when I purchased mine.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- A road group of 126 horses!! making a feel good ride!!Sedan?? well the Hyundai verna has already raised the upper limit of the c segment sedan cars in india, or i must say that it has helped me in a best possible ways by giving me some really good reasons to go with it. For me it tick marks all the check boxes for a perfect c segment car .It's a complete package that you can afford under 15 lakhs. If you love speed and that to with an amazing pickup ,verna makes it to do for you. If you love smooth and gripping drive, the answer will definitely be same.My beast is powered by a diesel 126 hp engine, and as i myself is an engineer therefore i just calculated it's weight power ratio ,which was amazingly good. It gives u good feel of safety by providing dual airbags. I liked it's diesel version a lot due to it's higher horse power of 126 hp and even it's high torque of 250 NM plus, which is nowadays a very rare among other same segment cars to find, i mean that you can't find both the features to be going up simultaneously.Mileage is superb and is almost same as it says on paper. Gear pin lock as an included safety feature, and the other feature which this car gave me as an another reason to go for it was it's bluetooth connectivity with mobile phone, which i think is the must in every car, as it really helps you in maintaining concentration on your driving, and when i bought this car , this feature was'nt in other same segment cars a 2 years back. For the design and look lovers, and even i was mesmerized by it's diamond cut 17" alloy wheels. The dashboard of grey and cream colour is simply amazing, the design of the central dashboard gives a real soft feeling thus adding to it's another pros .As i myself loves to drive the feel good factor by it's central cabin gives me a reason to love this car. And now coming to the rear seat , i must say that it fulfills for what it is made for,i.e. an enough seating space for 3 adults at the back. The cargo volume space of about 460 litres is added bonus, without compromising on it's outer look. Suspensions are amazing to go with, providing a shock and bump free ride. Aerodynamics of the car is the another technical feature which adds to its streamlined looks a sharp feature ,it even adds to it's capability of air cutting. Headlights look awesome with it's daytime running lamp feature and even the long and sharp fog lights which add beauty to this beast.A small and firm steering wheel is an awesome one giving the driver the sporty feeling at high speeds, it's a car to cruise at high speeds on highways, because like other same segment cars it gives you a feel of stability and grip with road, although it has a bit of a single negative feature that i found and that was it's soft and light shock absorbers, although they are good but lacks some firmness, but as i again say that having a hell lot of pros is enough to overcome a single con. Hope you all liked it. Thank You very much.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Dream carHyundai verna is my first love. I had reviewed the Honda City and Ciaz as well but vehicle offered at price I found best for Verna. This vehicle has complete satisfaction for money. So with Hyundai Rs 6.99 lakh scheme this vehicle one can find this as a best option, addition to this one can get leather seat cover, Teflon and antirust coating, floor mats. The engine is quite amazing no noise even at first or second, I hopped 1.4 must be giving more mileage compared 1.6, the base version has almost all mandatory features. - The Best Car In Its SegmentI purchased a 1.4 LTR petrol engine Hyundai Verna in June 2016, I have driven many cars but this makes me feel like my own car as the drive is super smooth. The power is there one does not miss the 1.6 LTR engine. The shockers are super smooth I drive on a very bumpy road every day to my factory but still don't feel the jerks. The engine is super quiet and sometimes it feels that the car has stopped but it is still running. Best mileage and power at an affordable price, 5 stars from me.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
- Stability on highways is awesomeIt's almost one year since i am driving this car very smoothly and i did not find any trouble so far. Verna gives you almost all the features when compare to others in this segment. it has great power and quickly geared up in cities, thanks to small size gear shifts and turbocharger. Stability on highways is awesome which feels more comfortable to drive even at high speed. ABS, EBD and disc brakes works very well when required. No need of Rear AC as Front AC is very strong which cools the cabin in couple of time. you will hear the Engine noise in diesel version(not much noisy) but it gets lower when driving at high speed. Good speakers, cooled gloved box, great mileage. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort) The front is very spacy - the seat is a bit lower and less of under thigh support . in driver seat, this gets adjusted by height setting but not so in co pilot seat . Beige finish is appealing & with wooden a the music system is quite forward . The steering is super smooth at low speeds and gets tight as you gain speed - obviously for better steering control . The material finish is top class quality . The foot pedal rest is there where needed . The car is super silent even with engine on and I think this is the best part . At times , I had to see the dashboard whether engine is on or not . the press key for ignition is on the wrong side- it should have been on right side instead of left side . At times, my kid sitting on co pilot seat pressed it for fun but it is fatal if the car is running . HYUNDAI please take care of this part if you are listening. The rear view display is good and easey to park. I have started facing problem as at times the display doesnt switch on when i do reverse gear . i had to restart the engine to get this back . Have shown to dealer though and they say it coul dbe because of mositure during monsoon . The dimmer on rear view is good and avoids glare of head lamps coming behind . I have done long trips with no issues. Only thing which irritates me is low ground clearance. overall experience is very good. Quite, clean and responsive, the 1.6L U2 CDRi diesel engine are built for optimum fuel efficiency and generates segment best power & torque of 128ps & 26.5 kgm respectively. The Verna S offers the choice of a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel engine, mated to either a six-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox. The automatic gearbox-equipped models come with 15-inch alloy wheels while manual versions come with steel wheels. A 2-DIN audio system is offered as standard. The carmaker has now discontinued the Verna S(O) trim. The third trim, the Verna SX now comes with Audio-Video Navigation, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, front fog lamps, power folding wing mirrors, an AVN system and a shark-fin antenna. This variant is powered by the same engines as the S trim. However, it gets the option of an automatic gearbox only on the petrol-powered version. Engine feels eager and responsive with barely any turbo lag that makes it easy to drive in the traffic and also feels planted at high speed and changes direction with ease. Adjustable steering wheels help to get comfortable riding position and it runs stable on highway and doesn?t lose its composure easily. Seats are comfortable but under thigh support for rear seat is not good. Cabin is well insulated and very little engine noise comes in. After sales service is good, price is quite reasonable. Verdict Unlike typical facelifts, Hyundai has addressed almost all the major issues that the old model faced. With a stiffened suspension, heavier steering and updated design along with most powerful petrol and diesel engines in the segment, the Verna is a much better value for money product than many of its rivals.Read MoreWas this review helpful?YesNo
