Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates purchased a Porsche 911 in the year 1979 and sold it. since then it traveled in Austria and now it has been scheduled to be auctioned in Vienna, Austria on 6th of June of this year as a vintage car. According to the story of the auctioners of the car, this 1979 Porsche 911 was first purchased by Bill Gates who always admired these high speed cars, in the year 1979 at New Mexico very soon after he had founded the company Microsoft with the partner Paul Allen.
He relocated the company to Seattle, Washington and on the way to Seattle, Gates was riding Porsche 911 when he got three tickets for crossing the speed limit in the same night. as a result of high speeding he was later arrested and Allen had to come and bail him out. Bill Gates sold this car in the year 1990’s and from there it was registered in Austria and till date it is registered there only. This European Union car still has features which are US specific.
The Porsche 911 has a stack of the receipts which gives the exact description of the work, which has been performed on the car recently and in the past for its upgradation and maintenance with the expenses incurred. The description also includes the rebuild 3.3 liter air cooled flat six engine and a new paint job in the original color of the car in the recent past. The Porsche 911 turbo is a world recognized car. The bidding for the 1979 Porsche 911 will start from € 15,000 which is around $ 21,000. It is being estimated that it will be sold somewhere between € 39,000 and € 50,000 which is equivalent to $ 55,500 to $ 71,000.
