2011 Chevrolet Beat Diesel to be priced slightly higher than petrol variant

According to recent developments in Indian automobile industry, General Motors India is all set to launch the diesel variant of Chevrolet Beat in India soon. As per reports, GM is planning to launch the 2011 Chevrolet Beat Diesel added with a three cylinder, turbocharged common rail diesel engine which is going to produce power of 57 Bhp and 140 Nm of torque. Furthermore, the high mileage figures are expected to be the major attraction of this Chevrolet car.

However as the car is scheduled to launch next month in June, 2011, Chevrolet Beat Diesel road tests are currently taking place in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune. As per reports, General Motors India’s president and managing director disclosed that the 2011 Chevrolet Beat Diesel will bear a 10-15 percent higher price tag than Chevrolet Beat petrol car.

Existing price figures says that the 2011 Chevrolet Beat’s petrol base variant is available at Rs. 3, 55,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). After the plantation of diesel heart in Chevrolet Beat, the car will bear a price tag of about INR 3, 90,000 to INR 4, 00,000. It is to be noted that Chevrolet beat Diesel will be the cheapest diesel engine Hatchbacks in the country with only competition from Tata Indica eV2 which is available at a price tag of INR 3,95,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

But when talking about Tata Indica, the main drawback of it being neglected is the cabbie centric image and old fashioned structure. The design factor is going to deliver additional mileage to Chevrolet Beat Diesel. Also another rival in the segment i.e.  Ford Figo Diesel is Rs. 50,000 higher than the Chevrolet Beat diesel variant’s speculated price.
