Fiat until recently was known for its brands like Fiat Padmini and Fiat Palio. This time around, Fiat made its re-entry in the market in partnership with Tata Motors. Fiat had introduced three cars in India, Fiat Punto hatchback, Fiat Linea sedan and Fiat 500 premier hatchback. However, all three cars were not able to attract the response the auto major might have anticipated. Tata Motors in the JV with Fiat, offered to showcase the Fiat models in their sales outlets. With the current competition in the market and with sluggish growth, Fiat has found to be attracting low volume of sales in competition with the Tata cars. This has triggered Fiat to open its own dealerships with Tata Motor's support.
