To grab some serious eyeballs, paving its way to the Indian car market is the newfangled 2013 Porsche 911 which is claimed to be the most worked on Porsche 911 till date. This legendary car has not undergone any major changes in the visual appearance since its debut in 1963; the silhouette of 911 was maintained throughout and only some minor changes and upgrades were rendered. But now this auto giant from German lands has furnished the car with major upgrades under the hood and some minor ones on the skin.
The 911 Carrera GT was the first car to be introduced in the Indian subcontinent by Porsche but this car was launched by the subsidiary company Volkswagen. And now with 2013 version of 911, Porsche is going to mark its individual entry to the shores of India which is expected to undergo a complete makeover on the inside as well as on the outside. According to the company the new car will have only 10% of the 911 Carrera GT especially in the shape, rest 90% of the car will flaunt redesigned components. The new components will add the most to the fuel economy of the car which is expected to go down by 16 percent from its predecessors.
Other significant changes rendered to the 2013 Porsche 911 include 100mm increase in the wheelbase, 56mm increase in the overall length, 7mm decrease in the height. The front end of the new car will be graced by the bigger headlights with the same shape, larger air intakes and a modish aluminum body which is expected to add to the performance of the car. Hustling under the hood of 2013 Porsche 911 is a 3.5-liter boxer engine mated to a 7 speed manual transmission and is capable of generating a peak power of 350 BHP. The 2013 version of 911 would be the first car to get a transmission based on Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK). This car flaunts an eye-popping time of 4.8 seconds for 0-100 acceleration.
