Volvo India, the subsidiary of the Swedish auto giant, Volvo is all set to treat the Indian car market with a model that can take on the likes of the BMW X1 and Audi Q3. The 2013 version of the Volvo XC40 could be one model that can very well take this competition to the last stage.
The car was recently spotted doing test runs on the roads of Sweden in the production ready form. It was noted that the model has a lot more in common with the Volvo V40 model and the 2013 Volvo XC40 boasts of a new bumper in the front, plastic cladding on the body and an increase in the ride height.
The new version might not see any changes in the engine options and therefore we can expect to see a number of petrol engines that are capable of pumping out a peak power ranging from 148bhp/150PS to 250bhp/254PS. The engine options housing in the diesel line-up would generate power from 113bhp/115PS to 174bhp/177PS.
Word is, the 2013 Volvo XC40 is going to premiere at the Paris Motor Show and there are bright chanced that Volvo India puts a lesser price tag than what BMW has put on the X1. Just for the consideration, the Volvo XC30 with a D3 engine hustling under the hood could also challenge the dominance of Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
