2014 BMW X4 Crossover Spied

German luxury carmaker, BMW is all set to unveil the production version of X4 at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show. This time the production spec X4 has been spotted during its last-minute testing on the Nurburgring.

WorldCarFans managed to click the 2014 BMW X4 with less camouflage, providing more inputs about the vehicle. The spotted vehicle shows that the design cues have been taken from the X4 Concept shown earlier this year at the Shanghai Motor Show. Moreover, it will also be positioned as the downsized version of the upcoming next-generation X6. It will also get the familiar kidney grille with connecting headlight cluster. The rear of the X4 crossover resembles the X6, and is expected to be available with M Sport package, offering a more aggressive front and rear bumper design and larger alloy wheels.

The BMW X4 will be based on the X3 platform, so we expect it to share the engine configuration with the X3. It is expected to be powered by the same 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo mill that develops 240bhp and a 3.0-litre TwinPower Turbo that churns out a maximum power output of 200bhp. The vehicle could also feature a more frugal 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo diesel engine producing 181bhp and a maximum torque of 380Nm.
