2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class launch on January 8, 2014

Mercedes-Benz India will launch the all-new 2014 Mercedes S-Class in the country on January 8, 2014. It was speculated that the new luxurious saloon will be launched at the next year's Indian Auto Expo in February, but with the increasing demand for the vehicle has forced the maker to prepone its launch.

Initially, the German luxury carmaker will introduce only the top end S 500 variant of the saloon. It will comes via CBU route, and is powered by a 5-litre twin-turbocharged, V8 petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 453bhp and 700bhp of top torque. The exact pricing details for the car is yet to be announced, but we expect it to priced around Rs. 1.5-1.7 crore.

The company will later introduce the 2014 Mercedes S 350 CDI diesel by the second half of the next year. The vehicle will be locally assembled at the company's manufacturing unit, which will help Mercedes to price it competitive to the market.
