The 2024 Hyundai Tucson has been officially revealed globally. The fourth-generation of the premium SUV has undergone a midlife update, which involved a tweaked exterior design, and a redesigned cabin. While Hyundai has not revealed its engine specifications, we can check out the design changes that this update has brought.
Exterior
The fascia still has the Parametric Jewel grille design with the lighting setup, but it has been slightly tweaked for a smoother aesthetic. This grille is sleeker and wider, and the horizontal elements of the grille have been redesigned as well. Also, it now has a bigger front bumper with a skid plate, sharper cuts and a slightly tweaked headlamp design.
The side profile is more or less the same as before. The sharp cuts, doors, cladding, window line and the roof design have been left unchanged, but the design of the alloy wheels is completely new. At the rear, the skid plate has been integrated into the bumper and made slightly bigger.
Cabin
The facelifted Tucson gets the most significant changes inside the cabin, which has been taken to another level for a premium experience. The dashboard design, while carrying similar elements, has been changed completely. It now houses a dual-integrated screen setup, a bit like that of the Hyundai IONIQ 5, and the steering wheel has been changed as well.
Another change with the new dashboard is the new touch-based climate control panel. Also, the drive-selector lever is now placed behind the steering wheel, similar to the one in the IONIQ 5. The doors, seats and the centre console look the same as before.
As for the features, Hyundai has not revealed any specifications for the updated Europe-spec SUV, but some features like dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera and ADAS tech like adaptive cruise control and auto emergency braking will be carried forward from its current version.
Engines
While the engine options for the 2024 Tucson are yet to be revealed, the Euro-spec SUV was already offered with the choice of turbo-petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrains. Meanwhile, the Hyundai Tucson in India is only available with 2-litre petrol and diesel engines, with the choice of all-wheel-drive (AWD) as well.
Launch Timeline
Hyundai will first launch the new Tucson in Europe early next year, followed by other markets. In India, this version of the Tucson can be expected to be launched sometime in the second half of 2024 or early 2025. It will carry a premium over the current version, which is priced from Rs 29.02 lakh to Rs 35.94 lakh (ex-showroom).
