Four new mass-market models, including EVs, will make their debut before the year ends

As 2019 draws to a close, most carmakers will be planning to launch new models in early 2020 or closer to the 2020 Auto Expo in February. However, there are a number of unveils scheduled this month - both in the luxury as well as mass market segments. Here are the important mass market unveils that will happen in December 2019:
1) Tata Altroz
The premium hatchback from Tata is the first on this list since it will have already been revealed by the time you're reading this. The Altroz will rival the likes of the Maruti Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20, with premium features such as a semi-digital instrument cluster, cruise control and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Tata will be launching the Altroz in January 2020 with prices likely to range from Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 9 lakh. It will be powered by BS6 petrol and diesel engines. 2) MG ZS EV
MG Motor will be unveiling the India-spec version of the ZS EV, on December 5. This electric SUV is also expected to launch in January 2020. The ZS EV will be a feature-rich offering with a built-in air-purifier, panoramic sunroof and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It will claim an all-electric range of over 400km on a single charge. The MG ZS EV is expected to be priced around Rs 20 lakh.
3) Tata Nexon EV
The Tata Nexon EV is another electric SUV offering that will be unveiled before the end of 2019. It will be unveiled in its production-ready form on December 17. The Nexon EV is expected to claim an electric range of around 300km and will feature fast charging. It will be based on the facelifted version of the regular Nexon sub-4m SUV. The Nexon EV is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2020 with a price tag of around Rs 15 lakh.
4) Hyundai Aura

Hyundai has developed a new sub-4m sedan offering called the Aura that is scheduled to be unveiled on December 19. It will be based on the Grand i10 Nios hatchback and will share the same powertrain options. The Aura will also offer a third engine option: the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit from the Venue. It will also get new features like a wireless phone charger, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and dual-tone interior. The Hyundai Aura is likely be priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9 lakh when launched in early 2020. It will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor and Volkswagen Ameo.
