5 Door Mahindra Thar Roxx Revealed In A New White Paint Option

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is expected to have the same powertrain options as the Thar 3-door, but likely with enhanced outputs

Update (14/08/24): The 5-door Mahindra Thar Roxx has been launched with prices starting from Rs 12.99 lakh for petrol and Rs 13.99 lakh for diesel (both prices introductory ex-showroom).

As the Mahindra Thar Roxx is scheduled to be launched on August 15, the automaker has begun teasing the SUV on its social media platforms. This time, we got our first look at the 5-door Thar in two colour options: white and black. Let’s see what was observed.

What Was Seen?

According to the author, the Thar Roxx in white looks aggressive, featuring a distinctive 6-slat grille and C-shaped LED DRLs. Its front bumper, finished in dual-tone black and grey finish, complements the white exterior. Additionally, the bumper houses fog lamps and turn indicators, similar to those seen on the Thar 3-door model.

A close look at the sides reveals the squared-off wheel arches, which enhance its rugged appearance. The side profile will feature 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and a side stepper for passenger comfort. The door handles are finished in black, and the C-pillar now houses the rear door handles.

Additionally, you will see a “4x4” badge just below the quarter glass and above the rear wheel. The rear profile of the Thar Roxx includes a tail-mounted spare wheel and LED taillights.

Features Revealed So Far

The automaker has teased several features of the Thar Roxx in previous teasers. It will include a large infotainment system and a digital driver’s display (both possibly 10.25-inch units), along with automatic AC, a Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.

Safety wise, it is expected to get 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold and descent control, and a 360-degree camera. It can also get level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking.

Expected Powertrain Options

The Thar Roxx is expected to feature the same engine options as the current 3-door Thar, with some tuning for enhanced output: a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. It will get the option of both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. Additionally, Mahindra is expected to offer the Thar Roxx with both rear-wheel-drive (RDW) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) options.

Expected Price and Rivals

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is expected to be priced starting with Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and it will be a direct rival to the 5-door Force Gurkha. It will also serve as a more premium alternative to the Maruti Jimny.
