All Clever Features Offered With The Hyundai Creta Electric
It not only provides a digital key for easier access to a car but also boasts functionalities like Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS) and adas linked regenerative braking that makes you feel safe
Hyundai recently introduced the Creta Electric, the most affordable all-electric offering from the Korean automaker in India. The Creta Electric boasts a sophisticated design, a feature-packed cabin, top-notch safety, and a practical driving range. What truly sets Creta Electric apart are its smart features, which not only make your life easier but also add a great deal of convenience. Let’s take a closer look at these clever features one by one.
Digital Key
It all starts with how accessible your EV is, and the Creta Electric nails it right from the moment you want to access your car. Hyundai has equipped its all-electric SUV with a digital key feature that allows you to lock and unlock the vehicle using your smartphone. This is made possible through near-field communication (NFC) and works with both Android and iOS smartphones.
Active Air Flaps
Another clever yet smart functionality offered with the Hyundai Creta Electric is the Active Air Flaps (AAF), located in the centre of the front bumper. These active air flaps not only add to the styling and flair, but also help in optimising the airflow for better battery cooling, and at the same time improve the aerodynamic efficiency of the SUV.
Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS)
EVs are known to be silent carriers, but sometimes they can pose a risk, as pedestrians on the road may not hear or be aware of what’s behind them. To address this safety concern, Hyundai has equipped the Creta Electric with a Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS) which quietly alerts pedestrians. Smart, isn’t it?
Charging Port With Indicator
Imagine you've plugged in your EV to charge at home, but you don’t want to check the instrument cluster to see the state of charge. Well, with the Creta Electric, Hyundai has focused on the finest details and has even included a state-of-charge indicator inside the charging flap, positioned alongside the charging port.
V2L (Vehicle-to-load)
The Hyundai Creta Electric also comes equipped with smart vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging functionality. This feature allows you to power your secondary or external devices, be it a coffee maker or a microwave. So, all your adventure drives become even more convenient when you're behind the wheel of a Creta Electric.
Electric Boss Mode
In its all-electric version, the Creta is the only compact SUV to come with Electric Boss Mode. If you're sitting in the back, near the co-driver's seat, and need extra legroom, you don’t have to ask the front passenger (if the seat is vacant and can't be adjusted manually). Instead, you can simply adjust the co-driver's seat forward or backwards with the press of a button located on the side of the backrest.
ADAS-linked Regenerative Braking
Hyundai’s all-electric Creta packs Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) which include multiple driver assistance functionalities like auto emergency braking, and lane keep assist, and one of them is adaptive cruise control. Using the adaptive cruise control, the Creta Electric can automatically adjust its relative speed depending on the speed of the vehicle ahead. When the speed is reduced and brakes are applied, the regenerative braking also kicks in which in turn helps in restoring some of the charge back to the battery pack.
