Amtek joins hands with Autech to manufacture specialised vehicles

Amtek Auto, the auto mobile component manufacturer has signed a joint venture with Autech Corporation, the South Korean auto manufacturer. The companies will together produce automotive in various sectors such as para-medical, fire fighting, waste management and defense to enjoying splurging demand for specialized automobiles in the respective sectors.
Amtek Auto, is a Delhi based auto enterprise which will establish an assembly unit at Daruhera in Haryana with an initial capacity of 10,000 automobiles every year.
Arvind Dham, chairman, Amtek Auto said that the auto company is looking forward in this hugely potential auto market in the fast pace economy which is increasingly creating demand for the special auto mobiles. He also said that though the auto companies are yet to finalize on the details of the agreement and also investment plans, their company has signed a technical agreement with Autech Corporation.
As per the agreement, the companies will begin its production of assembling automobiles in the later part of 2011. Autech Corporation mainly manufacturers medical examination vans, welfare cars and ambulances. It will supply crucial components from the company's South Korean unit and Amtek Auto will manufacture the parts. Amtek is wide spread in India and abroad with 43 production units. As per the agreement, the project is assumed to first incorporate the manufacturing of medical vehicle segment and also will have localisation.
Mr Dham also said that the companies are visualizing at 70 per cent localisation from the first day itself which will help in keeping the price highly competitive.
Amtek Auto, one of the biggest supplier of the automobile parts to big names in auto industry such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors. It is the first automobile part manufacturer to enter in the potential and progressive automobile manufacturing.
As per the experts, the defense and medical automobiles are huge potential sectors for growth and with the metros establishment, the waste management vehicles are also increasingly in demand.
Ashok Leyland, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors customize their trucks and cars for various special segments by working with little changes. A few especially designed vehicles were imported by Volkswagen and various other auto producers which is included in its corporate social responsibility programmes in various parts of the country.
