Anand Mahindra joins International Advisory Council of Economic Development Board of Singapore

Mr. Anand Mahindra, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Mahindra Group, has been invited to join the International Advisory Council (IAC) of the Economic Development Board (EDB) of Singapore. Past members of the EDB from India include Mr. Ratan Tata. As part of his new role, Mr. Mahindra will be participating in the 11th IAC EDB meeting to be held in Singapore on August 2. The theme of this year's meeting is ‘Strengthening Singapore's Global-Asia Positioning’. Against the backdrop of the changing operating environment in Asia and globally, as well as new opportunities and risks arising from major trends, Mr. Mahindra will advise the EDB on how Singapore can help Asian countries internationalise.

Mr. Mahindra will be missing a gala dinner being held in Singapore on August 1 to celebrate the EDB’s 50th Anniversary. The IAC is chaired by Mr. Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, Singapore. The Deputy Chairman is Mr. Koh Boon Hwee, a distinguished corporate leader in Singapore, who is currently the Chairman of Yea Hiap Seng Limited. Other members include Mr. Peter Löscher, President and Chief Executive Officer, Siemens AG, Mr. Robert A. McDonald, President and Chief Executive Officer, Procter & Gamble Corporation, Mr. Fumio Ohtsubo, President, Panasonic Corporation and Mr. John Rice, Vice-Chairman, General Electric.

The EDB designs and delivers solutions that create value for investors and companies in Singapore. The EDB's mission is to create sustainable economic growth with vibrant business and good job opportunities for Singapore. The Board is building on existing strengths and adding new capabilities to enable Singapore to become a 'Home for Business', a 'Home for Innovation' and a 'Home for Talent' for companies.
