It will take you about three and a half seconds to say 'Bentley Continental GT V8 S Black Edition'. However, you will need a lot, lot more to figure out what sets it apart from the 'standard' Bentley. Available with the coupe, as well as the convertible GT, changes are super subtle, just like the brand itself.
For starters, all the silverware you would usually find on a big Bentley viz. the mesh on the grille and the air dams, are now gloss black. While these might grab attention at first glance, the other blacked out bits are of the 'blink-and-you-miss-it' variety. The window surrounds, side rubbing strips, door handles and the headlamp bezels get the same treatment. To top it off, the headlamps and the tail lamps are smoked out, and the amazing 21-inch wheels are - you guessed it - black.

In case you want a bit of zing on your Brit, you can opt for a body kit, and get it accented in four contrast colours. These include Cyber Yellow, Hallmark Grey, Beluga and St. James' Red. You also get a choice of red or black brake callipers. The cabin remains unchanged, save for the addition of GT Design Seats by Mulliner, and a headliner bow that is colour coordinated with the accent colour you've selected.
The 4.0-litre V8 remains un-tinkered too and is good for 528PS and 680Nm. The eight-cylinder engine is mated to an 8-speed ZF gearbox, that dumps all of the power onto the rear wheels. As a result, the 0-100kmph dash takes just 4.5 seconds, while top-whack is rated at a mind-numbing 309kmph.
So, there you have it. The Black Edition is proof that the big Bentley isn't just for white-haired gentlemen. They wouldn't want something with Cyber Yellow accents anyway.
