BMW 6 Series coupe and BMW 3 Series convertible launch on the cards

Andreas Schaaf, the President of BMW India, is reported to have mentioned that BMW has been able to maintain its leadership in the premium market segment since 2009 with the market share of 40%, and intends to make a sale of 10,000 units this year to get back on the track, there-by taking the BMW's market share to 49%. The BMW India is reported to have made a 5, 364 unit sales in the Jan-July period of 2011.

The German luxury Brand BMW is expected to introduce its BMW 6 series sedan as a coupe version during the next month. A coupe is a compact sports car usually referred to as a two-seater with a retractable rear end, however at times it can also be a three-seater. It also has plans to launch the BMW 3 series as a convertible version in the pipeline towards the end of this year. However, the leading luxury brand had already introduced its BMW 6 series in the convertible version in March at a price of Rs 95 lakhs and has been successful in selling 60 units of it so far.

Mr Schaaf, who was in Pune for the recent launch of the BMW X3, which is being assembled at the Chennai plant currently, has reportedly said that the Sports Activity Vehicle, BMW X3 might have faced delay in the launch that was earlier intended to take place in May, but will definitely put an effort to make the deliveries on time. TheBMW X3 price for the two variants are placed at Rs 41.20 lakhs and Rs 47.90 lakhs. The other car models offered from the BMW India product portfolio in India iHowever, thenclude BMW 3 series, BMW 5 series, BMW 6 series, BMW 7 series, BMW X1, BMW X3, BMW X5, BMW X6, BMW Z4, BMW Gran Turismo, BMW A6 sedan and BMW M series.
